Lady Gaga keeps 700 guests waiting with tantrum

In a display of press-seeking petulance that says more about her character than any press agent would dare, Lady Gaga kept a room-full of guests waiting…for no reason at all.
The 24-year old singer was the headline performer at the Costume Institute’s Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday. But she refused to walk the red carpet, then spent most of the evening locked in her dressing room, making the rest of the night’s stars ‘coax’ her out.
“She literally wouldn’t come out,” a spy tells the Post. “All her friends tried; Eventually, [art dealer] Vito Schnabel came over and got Terence Koh to talk to her on the phone. Koh and Oprah were the ones who finally coaxed her out.”
When she finally deigned to grace the room with her presence Gaga told the 700 adult guests – who included Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Taylor Swift, J-Lo and even Mayor Bloomberg – how she was offered the job by Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue;
“I’ll never forget when Anna called me to play at this event; She said, ‘I would like you to play at the Met gala, but I just want to make sure that you won’t be swearing during the performance,’” the singer explained. “So Anna, I will do my fu***ng best!”

When the performance finally started most of the guests seemed delighted. Except Bono – who walked out half-way through.
And the fun didn’t end at the Met -  Pharrell Williams, Sean Combs, Usher and Justin Timberlake then played their part at the Gala’s post-party, with an impromptu jam session:
“Pharrell went first and started singing ‘Beautiful.’” says a source. “Then Puffy started rapping to ‘All About the Benjamins.’ He even dragged Anna Wintour into the DJ booth. Finally, Usher and Justin joined in.”
But the evening’s fun reached its opulent peak[s] when Katy Perry arrived;
“She was wearing a dress covered with LED lights, and the switch was near her boobs,” says a spy. “She was literally having people grope her to turn the dress on.”
Something tells me we’re going to be hearing from Russell about that…
