NBC to develop series featuring Hilary Duff

NBC to develop series featuring Hilary Duff Hilary Duff has signed a pact with NBC to star in a new TV series according to Daily Variety. She first rose to fame as the teen star of the Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire” (which later spawned “The Lizzie McGuire Movie”). She then appeared in features such as “Agent Cody Banks,” “Cheaper by the Dozen” and “Raise Your Voice.”
Duff gave TV another try starring in a 2004 CBS pilot that wasn’t picked up to series. Since then, she’s focused on her music and movie careers.  As a singer, Duff’s album “Metamorphosis” sold more than 2 million copies and spawned several hit singles. As a movie actress Duff starred in this year’s “War, Inc.,” and will next be seen in the 2009 features “Safety Glass,” “Stay Cool” and “Greta.”
But now she is returning to TV (can’t figure out why?), and under terms of the one-year talent and development deal, NBC will develop a show starring Duff. And apparently in return, she will guest star in various current NBC shows to help try to pump up the ratings for the Peacock, which is last among the big 4 networks.
Duff will now meet with writers and comb through NBC’s development for the right project to star in
