Sandra Bullock and Proposal director project underway. The director of The Proposal is reuniting with actress Sandra Bullock to work on a new project. Director Anne Fletcher will be the director as Warner Bros. picks up the pitch.
Details are scarce, but the contemporary-set project is described as in the vein of the 1978 Paul Mazursky film An Unmarried Woman and Saturday Night Fever. Bullock will also be the executive producer with her Fortis Films partner Maggie Biggar. Offspring's Matt Smith also is producing while Sarah Schechter is overseeing for Warners Bros.
Warners is bullish on CAA-repped Bullock; the acquisition comes as Bullock is in negotiations to star in the studio's outer space survival movie, Gravity, from director Alfonso Cuaron. Gravity is vying with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as her next movie.
Choreographer-turned-director Fletcher, repped by UTA, is now developing Most Wanted, which sees her working not only with Bullock but also her Proposal co-star, Ryan Reynolds. Offspring was behind three films this year, including The Last Song, Step Up 3D and Going the Distance. Falk and Ellis, repped by WME and Anonymous Content, are best known for penning the 2001 romantic comedy The Wedding Planner, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez.
