Kim Kardashian Rejects Million Dollar Birthday Cake

Kim Kardashian has nixed the million dollar birthday cake that was prepared for her surprise by Manhattan restaurateur Nino Selimaj. Kardashian turned 30 years old yesterday (October 21)
and will be celebrating this Saturday at GLO Night Club in Westbury, New York.

Yesterday RadarOnline.com was one of the first gossip websites to break the story about the million-dollar birthday cake. They reported that a jeweler in New York was working with restaurateur Nino Selimaj to encrust Kim's cake with "loose diamonds worth over a million dollars," according to Danielle Orsino, a spokesperson for GLO.

Orsino also said, "Their goal is to break the record for the most expensive cake ever made which was 1.65 million dollars."

Later on Thursday, RadarOnline.com issued an "uh-oh" (not an apology) article that explained the cake was supposed to have been a surprise. Read that story here.

However, once Kim found out about the cake she expressed her displeasure. According to Orsino of GLO, "Kim was adamantly against accepting the cake. It's a shame that she couldn't just enjoy it for what it is, a record-breaking diamond-encrusted cake gifted her, a lover of diamonds."

Orsino spoke with RadarOnline.com telling them, "Her people contacted Nino... thanked him for his efforts and explained they couldn't accept. Kim's fans will be pleased to know that although she will not be accepting the cake, she is still appearing for her birthday at GLO on Saturday, October 23, as planned."

Kim Kardashian finally spoke herself about how she felt on receiving such an ostentatious birthday cake. She wrote on her blog, "First of all, this is the first I've heard about this, and I would never allow anyone to spend that much money on a cake."

Kim also wrote, "I'd rather they give me a cupcake and donate the rest of the money to the homeless!"
