Bosnian refugees recieve $500,000 after Angelina Jolie visit.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt visited a Bosnian refugee camp in April, which many believe caused the U.S. government to make a donation toward an apartment building for the camp residents.

The United States government has donated nearly $500,000 for the construction of an apartment building for Bosnian refugees. Many believe the donation to be a result of a visit to a Bosnian refugee camp made by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt earlier this year.

The donation will provide housing for 15 refugees left in the Bosnian camp, which Jolie and Pitt visited in April. Although it is not official that the actors’ visit caused the donation, Radomir Jovicic, the mayor of the eastern Bosnian town of Rogatica, believes the Hollywood power couple definitely brought global attention to the refugees’ situation.

"I simply cannot believe that there is no link between Angelina Jolie's visit and this project," Jovicic said to the Associated Press.

One of the residents of the refugee camp told the Press he was going to get Jolie’s name tattooed on his arm, saying the refugees now refer to the actress as their “saint.”

Jolie is currently working on her directorial debut, a wartime love story set in Bosnia. Her production is set to start filming in Bosnia in November.
